Self-Portrait
For the self-portrait images, I experimented with different approaches to reimagine my portrait in multiple ways. I played with bold color palettes inspired by pop art, as well as photo manipulation by placing myself in settings like the beach and the Hall of Mirrors. I also fragmented the portrait into a comic strip, showing how identity can be layered and reconstructed. Within making these in vector art styles, self-portrait images let me push beyond realism and explore style, color, and context.
ORIGINS OF THE PHOTO
The hardest part was deciding which of the several selfies and pictures I had to take I wanted to keep. Ultimately, I had to choose the one that stands out as being unique, which is what I have now.
